Matheus Chiaratti is a Brazilian artist working with painting, textiles, photography, and literature. His artistic process deals with multiple references from Literature, Art History and personal, affective histories.

In 2018, he was a participant of Palazzo Monti’s residency, in Brescia, Italy, where he carried out an extensive research of the life and the work of French symbolist poet Arthur Rimbaud (1854-1891), followed by an artistic peregrination to the poet’s hometown Charleville-Mézières. On February 2019, he exhibited the resulting artworks at Galerie 21, in Livorno, Italy. In the same year, he exhibited two solo projects in Brazil: a show at Quadra Gallery, in Rio de Janeiro, and the other, a project in partnership with the art consultancy Kura Arte, called “Umbigo do Desejo” and “The Crowned” respectively.

Matheus is also one of the creators of arte_passagem, an independent art project housed in a commercial display case in a downtown São Paulo arcade gallery.
