PIVÔ is headquartered in the Copan Building – a landmark of the architecture of Oscar Niemeyer jammed into the new center of São Paulo; the building is a postcard of the city and has been the subject of countless discussions of architecture and urbanism. Built between 1952 and 1961, nowadays the building houses a vibrant and diverse social life. Approximately five thousand residents live within this building of monumental size, which also houses shops, restaurants and many other services, as well as various types of apartments.
Even in the face of this reality, it is surprising to find that the 3500 square meters of PIVÔ space were closed for nearly twenty years. The reactivation of this space follows several initiatives that contribute to the revival of downtown São Paulo through culture.
