Annual Exhibition Program


The Annual Exhibition Program is partially supported through the Brazilian cultural incentive laws (Rouanet). Throughout the year we enable 3-4 proposals from artists and curators invited by Pivô's curatorial team and/or its advisory board. The program takes over Pivô’s main exhibition spaces and aims to promote challenging artistic projects, from retrospectives to new commissions. Artists involved in the institution's program participate in ongoing conversations and are given a platform to make ambitious new work often in response to the Pivô’s unique space and context. Fora da Caixa


Fora da Caixa  programme revisits works and art projects that were exhibited in the past and are currently stored in public or private collections. The idea is to examine the artistic production of the last 50 years and reflect on its influence today by promoting possible interactions with the panorama of recent contemporary production. For each edition, a different curator is invited to take charge of the research and exhibition of the historic pieces at Pivô. Pivô Research


Pivô Research is the institution’s residency program. Mainly focused on assisted studio-practice, the program aims to achieve this goals: to allow artists time and space to work, support an emerging artist scene in São Paulo through international exchange and to bring the processes of contemporary creation closer to the public by exposing the entire movement involved in the conception and manufacture of a work, thus expanding the content generated by Pivô to the social sphere. Hello. Again


Interventions for Pivô’s reception space This program has the aim to introduce the space and greet Pivô’s visitors. The title is inspired on a work, also entitled ‘Hello. Again’, by the Israeli artist Haim Steinbach, announcing a reencounter. This project has the objective to greet returning visitors and introduce the public to the space, establishing a personal relation with everyone that enters Pivô. The interventions on the ground floor promote a continuous dialogue between Copan’s street, the environment of La Central restaurant and Pivô’s exhibitions and program, instigating passers by through this vitrine, lit by night.  ‘Hello. PIVÔ WELCOMES


Pivô Welcomes presents previously formatted projects by artists, curators or cultural producers which PIVÔ hosts in its exhibition spaces. Participating projects are selected according to conceptual affinity with the institution program, the viability of allocation and schedule. Throughout the year three or six proposals are realized within this program.
